Determination of Trace Elements ( Zinc, Copper, Magnesium, Iron ) In Blood Serum of Diabetic Patients

Abstract

The trace elements have been studied for diabetic patients and compared with healthy ones. Blood samples o f diabetic patients ( 150 samples) with different ages, and they were categorized :
First group: Include( type one) diabetic patients insuline – dependent and they suffer from diabetes for mor than three years . this group involves ( 50) patients; (25) male and (25) female.
Second group: Include( type tow) diabetic patients which insuline – independent and they suffer from diabetes for more than five years . this group involves (50) patients; (25) males and (25) females.
Controlled samples have been obtained from healthy volunteers , fasting for about (12) hours . This samples involve (50) volunteers ; (25) males and (25) females, their ages ranged 6 – 69 years.
In this study, it was found that there is shortage in trace elements( zinc, magnesium, iron) and increase of ( copper ) in diabetic patients.
All samples were analized by flame atomic absorption spectrometer .
