Effect of suckling system and some other factors affected in Performance of Local Goats

Abstract

This study was conducted on 27 goat and 33 kids during 25/11/2006 to the 27/05/2007. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of suckling system and some factors affected in performance of local goats of different Ages . The completely block design (RCBD) within the SAS program was used. Suckling system showed significant effect (P<0.05) on weaning weight with continue suckling (group 1) but it had no effect on body weight at 16 week from kids age. Partial suckling from 7 week (group 3) effect had significant increased in body weight at 21 and 26. Age of dam had significant on body weight at weaning ,16 , 21 and 26 from kids age,. Type of birth had significant effect on body weight at weaning and 16 weeks. Sex of kids had significant (P<0.01)effect on all studied traits
