Behaviors of pregnant women toward minor discomforts of pregnancy

This is across sectional study carried out to study the behaviors of pregnant women toward minor discomforts of pregnancy. The study sample involved (200) pregnantsattending Al-Diwaniyamaternity and pediatric hospital during the period 1/11/2013_31/12/2013.The data was collected by constracted questionnaire which designed for the purpose of study and analyzed by using frequency distribution and relative percentages. The result of the study revealed that 15% get up from bed suddenly, 50% were drinking small and frequent amount of fluid. In heart burn 90% were avoiding fat meals,70% were eating several small meals in different time,2.5% were putting small pillow under head, in varicose vein 60% were relaxing and rise legs, 25% were wearing medical socks. In case of backache 35% were sleeping on hard bed, , in case of constipation 75% were drinking 1-2 cup of water in morning, 10% were playing exercises, 15% were decreasing tea and coffee, in case of legs edema, 10% were elevating legs up, 80% were going to doctor. The study recommends health education of pregnant about behaviors toward minor discomforts of pregnancy.
